After qualifying as a General Surgeon through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) in 2016, A/Prof Vignesh Narasimhan undertook a PhD at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on the management of peritoneal disease in colorectal cancer, including cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC).
He subsequently completed subspecialty training in colorectal surgery at Monash Health and Fiona Stanley Hospital, gaining expertise in open and laparoscopic colorectal surgery.
Dr Vignesh then went overseas to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) to complete a 12-month robotic and complex colorectal surgery fellowship.
